According to my Navy husband, fighter jets are lost regularly from carriers. They often fall off while being moved & they sit so close together that if one catches fire, they just push them all into the ocean. Maybe talk to someone because thingst might not be as nefarious as you might think.

They don’t fall off. Jets are tied down with heavy chains attached to pad-eye fittings on the flight deck. These fittings are strategically placed on the deck to ensure proper aircraft placement and secure tie-down points. Multiple chains are used for each aircraft to provide redundancy and ensure stability.

Your theory could be right. But search Qatar's pipeline that they're wanting to pipeline to Europe. This will go through Syria which Trump lifted the sanctions. Follow the money.
