unpopular opinion: the movie is badly written. "its supposed to be deep and hard to understand!" no, the plot is just badly written. U can make a movie with a deep meaning without making it insanely difficult to understand.

Thats the point 😔 Miyazaki was critiquing the violence and uselessness of war. It doesnt even need a reason, its just happening, always, everywhere. Js like how Howl said that hes not one specific side to the war. The recklessness of war isnt worth innocent lives
