season 1 kara was THE KARA. They tried to throw her on a leash so much sometimes, because of, “Supergirl.” She was never allowed to be Kara Zor-El. Only Kara Danvers and SG.

I would have loved to be given more background to her pain, she lost her life, her planet, her family, there was so much potential, that anger meant that maybe Kara's development would have been better, and also the fact that Kal did not suffer, because he did not know that world but Kara did

Kara is "happy" because she chooses not to let anger be her master. She chooses to be grateful for what she has gained rather than wrathful for what has been taken from her. It's a *choice* she makes, and it's a hard one, and we deserved to see her struggle with more tbh. Bc, yeah, she's angry, and she's *right* to be. But that isn't as marketable as "superpowered sunshine puppy"
