I wouldn’t even say read your book out loud because that also is fraught with errors. I would say have your book read to you by a text to speech app. That way you will find the mistakes that your eyes will miss.

One piece of advice for the editing portion, since I'm in it right now. This is the time to the think about the future of your book.This is when you pretend you're being interviewed and asked questions about tge writing process. I can't tell you how many plot holes I've fixed, characters I've perfected, and story threads I've strengthened just by answering interview questions of my own book.
