I’m just now realizing after reading the comments that logistically it would NOT have made sense for Sam to have died, if she had died in the first place she would’ve come back and the killers would too. Had Sam died and come back she would’ve killed everyone so they’d ALL die in the end and the curse would’ve never been broken. As much as I wished that Kate and Simon could’ve made it through, they were clearly intended to die but it wasn’t anyone persons fault, Deena didn’t want to prioritize Sam’s life it was kind of just the priority because of the situation they were in. Kate and Simon chose to stay and it was inevitable that they’d be killed, since they were in a small grocery store with many obstacles and had to rely on Sam dying to the effects of PILLS then DROWNING (which take a bit) their end was in sight. Now I will also admit that Deena was selfish but it made sense given the situation, she’s being hunted down by killers and she wants to save her friends, brother and girlfriend (who’s the one technically in the most danger due to her seeing Sarah Fier and being cursed)
