my main problem with the dress code (As a former Starbucks employee) is if you want me to wear a Starbucks issued shirt. and a hat with the logo then I shouldn't be the one that has to pay for it if that wasn't the dress code when I started. ill wear a black shirt but if I have to wear a Starbucks one the company better give me one

It’s more about taking out piercings and covering tattoos, despite being hired in with them. They even went as far as to specify that we cannot use masks to cover these piercings. This is most of what those around me are upset with.

they put old uniform shirts discounted before the policy was announced. employees bought them. then couldnt wear them and had to buy more shirts and new shoes.

When jeans cost $40-$60 for a pair that fits well and won’t wear out easily due to constant movement, and you need 2-3 pairs for a full time or more job, that adds up quick. “It’s just jeans”, think for 2 seconds PLEASE

as a barista, this is literally a basic dress code, and the jewelry/tattoos etc rules have been rules for years. it's jeans and a black shirt. the shoes are a safety requirement. It's not that deep.
