@sambentley: This paper bag is helping to stop trees from being cut down! Releaf Paper are a Ukrainian company using fallen leaves from urban areas, not from forests, to create bags that don’t harm a single tree. Leaves are collected from parks and residential areas before being cleaned, and dried for storage. They are then be processed into paper bags, using way less resources than conventional paper production. The bags are strong, breathable, and even water resistant making them a great environmental alternative to both plastic and paper! They even decompose quicker than normal paper only taking about thirty days while normal paper takes up to 270 days! Leaves in urban areas are a waste product and are generally burned, releasing CO2. So Releaf provides a way of putting those leaves to good use while also decreasing deforestation from paper manufacturing! What do you think of this idea? Let me know! #goodnews #Sustainability #conservation #saveourplanet #upcycle #deforestation

Honest question, doesn’t the leaves that fall help the nutrients in the ground and helps the cycle for plant and animal life?

As long as only fallen leafs in urban areas are being used, because nature needs them too! Our critters on and in the ground depend on fallen leafs and all sorts of dead plant matter

Did you know fallen leaves are nature's gold?
When leaves drop from trees, they're not trash - they're food for the earth.
They break down and return minerals and
nutrients back to the soil. That helps trees grow stronger and forests stay healthy.
If we take all the leaves away, the ground becomes poor, and trees get weaker. So next time you see leaves on the ground
remember: it's nature's way of recycling!

But the soil also needs the leafs, I have no idea why it became a trend to burn them🤦. But I am glad they reuse them and make something great out of them

Imagine how much better the world would be if we did not do wars and focused attention, money and resources onto things like this. We wouldn't be in the crisis we are right now

Paper In France is from : 30% of recycled paper and 70% is thinning cut (when trees are cut down so that others can grow better), and if you ask why the forests in the Amazon are cut down, it's because of the meat industry (industrial need space for the animals and their food)
