I went to buy a dodge journey the other day fired it up and noticed a real quite knock in the bottom end! Pulled the dipstick and found bar oil in the engine 🤦🏼♂️the guy wanted 4k for it. Thank god I’ve been a mechanic for 15 years no one else woulda noticed it!

sounds just like a failing hydraulic tensioner they make the same noise its common on those Honda Odysseys.

For all the uninformed people in the comments, that in fact is not rod knock. Common issue on the odyssey’s, it’s just a weak tensioner. Previously purchased one person thought it was the engine, same exact issue/noise.
