This video does a really good job explaining taiwans defense strategy. I like how u mention Taiwan would know when they would be invaded based off the massive amount of forces the Chinese would need to set up to land a sea invasion. The Us knew an invasion was coming a couple of weeks before Russia attacked for Taiwan they would know much earlier. The second thing that I liked was u mentioned was their gorilla warfare type tactic. Taiwan would send their troops into the mountain side and then blow up all of their chip factories so they don’t fall in to the hands of China. The weapons that taiwan invest in are also really good for gorilla warfare and they would 100% capable to hold off Chinese forces until the us navy arrives. The only issue for Taiwan is if China invades it will be insanely hard for them to keep their resources as almost all their goods are imported and a lot of their energy sources are located in the coast and can easily be destroyed by china

😂😂😂the fact that you think Ukraine is holding it's own against Russia is laughable. Ukraine is losing land daily and western media has stopped talking about how Ukraine is losing. Ukraine is lucky because it has land borders which keep weapons flowing in from the west. Taiwan doesn't have that. Taiwan would easily lose. A simple blockade would crush Taiwan within a month they would surrender.

to be fair a lot of ukraine's success in holding off russia is due to unfathomable incompetence in russian leadership (not to diminish what UA has accomplished, their effort was and is heroic)

They don’t need to mount an attack they don’t need to land they don’t need an amphibious assault, they need the US to be busy with some other war and bomb them into submission, same with Ukraine

Taiwan is only 160 km from the coast. If I was China I’d simply bombard them with a fuk ton of artilarry non stop for weeks until all their defences were mush. THEN land invasion time.

I think China is a bit more capable purely off of economic output and population however the geographical challenges of the strait and the mountains outweighs it all I feel. even if the US didn't get involved

China would squash Taiwan like a bug. It wouldn’t starve it it wouldn’t destroy it it wouldn’t do anything to it because it would want to integrated it. But it would crush it like a bug if it decided that it wanted to take it. And no one can helpthe comparison with Russia is an absolute joke. The Chinese are a superpower

Anyone complaining about Ukraine not “holding it own” needs to realize Russia failed to take Ukraine because of logistics. Russia has a larger force and can’t pull it off because Ukraine was given supplies. They’re stuck because of a supply line basically, Thats sad. Russia was our big bad enemy we would be equal with supposedly. Now it’s supposedly China? 👍 😂

I’m just not convinced China would ever do it. China isn’t at threat like Russia is from western powers. They’re powerful on their own. China also has more stable leadership. Putin is unhinged, the Ukraine war was always a bad idea. China doesn’t make brash decisions like that.

Completely missed the mark. Ukraine has only survived this long because of western nations practically bankrupting themselves throwing weapons at Ukraine. You may say that China faces logistical issues taking Taiwan because of the Taiwan Strait, but western nations would find it far more difficult to arm Taiwan because one, they recognise it as part of China, and two, how are they possibly going to arm Taiwan when it is on the other side of the world, fully understand a naval blockade?

keep in mind. every destroyed tank/ship on the beaches are one more obstacle for China. it gets harder and harder to land as casualties build.

China does not want to destroy Taiwan. They want it whole and not crushed because Taiwan is economically too valuable. All the military buildup and posturing is actually to intimidate Taiwan with the hope for a less violent renunciation.

However don’t discount the Chinese ingenuity - Russia has a very corrupt and blunt, untrained military. I have no doubt it will be challenging - but they’re more capable than the Russian Federation
