Good bitrate > higher resolutions if the higher resolutions don't also have a decent bitrate. I've seen 4k videos that can look worse side by side with high bitrate 1080p ones.

Tech Savvy here. it depends on how the resolution is captured. Our phones have terrible 4K and 1080p resolutions at high bit rates whereas 1/2

just use av1 default preset/x264 CRF 28 with 64-96kpbs opus

I shoot at XAVC HS 4K 4:2:2 10bit at 45mbps only. Lowest bitrate on my FX3 (30-40mbps) but 4k is still 4k. Export as high as you can but it helps if you know the max bitrate your social media can handle.
