my ONLY criticism of this show is they skipped the blacksmith scene where he shakes hands with the characters, showing how he visualises their strengths and what swords would be best for them, with the girl being a bull so he suggested the Zweihander, and the MC terrifying him as he visualises a Kraken

that's his entire character and I love it. mastery over swordsmanship with very fast reflexes. no overly flashy moves, just a dude who truly knows how to use a sword

As far as I’m aware from reading almost all officially translated light novels, this doesn’t change. He’s just a highly competent swordsman, which I adore.

From reading the manga, the only "only in anime" thing he has does have is insanely fast foot work and monstrous strength. most the sword related stuff is pretty realistic.

I've been following the manga for years and was concerned the anime would just rely on the name like some other series this season but I'm glad the fighting was properly animated and really shows the techniques the main character uses
