Unrelated, but I love the motif around the “stranglehold” the empire has on people and the galaxy. Luther talks about people being strangled so slowly that they won’t even notice, Dedra clutches at her collar after the Ghormann Massacre and right before she is thrown to the wayside by the empire. Vader’s most iconic use of the force is force choking.
