Moved here in 1989. Have never seen an alligator & I run outside. Hurricanes don’t happen often actually. The sun is amazing at the beach. Move close to the coast so you can go to the beach on weekends.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville and the only gators that I've ever seen were at the jax zoo and the FL gators football team in Gainesville lol

We’re full. Between homeowners and car insurance being doubled since Hurricane Ian many people can afford to live here. Plus the rude NY and NJ drivers have ruined it for us.

If you move here, I’d suggest Tampa area or Orlando, Jacksonville. South Florida is really expensive. The housing situation is bad. And as far as hurricanes, they hit the Carolinas & the Gulf states lately more than us.

You’re going to sell yourself a dream and be disappointed. Florida heat isn’t what you expect. Alligator permits for harvest, or it’s illegal. Florida isn’t a vacation. It’s real life and you have to work.

Moved to central Florida east coast. Not in a hurricane prone area. I don’t need flood insurance. The heat is no worse than NYC in the summer. The alligators look at you when you fish. They’re so cool. Just know the natives are hostile. They don’t like us. Come down vote blue.
