As someone who currently works at OU’s Pride Center, I always said it’s a space for people open minded about LGBT+ topics and the community. Never shutting out people as it’s a college campus where education is #1. It’s a place to educate on LGBT+ topics and the community, never shun people for their beliefs or lack of understanding.

I am an OU alum. I am disappointed in OU for not standing up to our government. I really hope people are signing the petition to stand up to our elected officials and not dismantle DEI and higher education.

It’s absolutely asinine. I go to Akron and they took down the pride flags in our student union, got rid of inclusive events and are no longer embracing DEI policies. It makes me upset.

My grandfather was a loved Spanish Professor at OU in the 80's & started the travel abroad program, loaded up students in VW busses and took them to the pyramids in Mexico to study cultural significance. loved by students and faculty. he brought cultural appreciation, acceptance and loving hospitality to everyone who graced his path....this school always and forever brought a rich history of diversity of human beings to this area of Ohio and they learned things then took the knowledge with them around the country and world. ~Manuel Antonio Serna-Maytorena ~ still a scholarship named after him to reward kids with a spanish education 👏 RIP thank you

They do have merit, they still needed to get into the same schools and programs. The reason why it’s important is because of discrimination. It was a promise for diversity and giving minority groups the same chance for education.

The student clearly stated the campus won't become less diverse after eliminating DEI. So it's a non issue. I don't believe everyone wants the minority and gay ppl to go away, just not get bonus points over others....
