Personally I’m in favor of things staying the way they are - I like feeling that division games have an extra importance to them, I don’t mind Week 18 being a chill week before the playoffs

I'm sorry to say this, buddy, but you're willing to give up the entire year, just to make week 17 and 18 a little better. The playoffs will be worse. The entire regular season will be worse. Just ask the nba.

I wound love this change. I personally don’t see how this would make division games less important because by winning your division you’re still guaranteed a playoff spot. If you have less wins than a non division winner you shouldn’t have a home playoff game above them.🤷♂️

It’s necessary. The 9-8 winner of the annual NFC south pillow fight shouldn’t get a home playoff game. They should get a nice set of steak knives at best

Better change is if a division cannot field a winning team, that division forfeit their playoff spot to an additional wild card team. Losing teams should never be in the playoffs.

this does not devalue divisional games at all. Playoff spot on the the line for for the top and the lower teams can play spoiler by giving the top team an L and dropping their playoff seed

this rule is more complicated than you’re letting on. div winners still host the playoff game and it mostly affects reseeding for the second round. i just don’t like it cause it’s complicated tbh

This needs to be done and also stop having 2 games each w/in division. That was setup at a time when teams couldn't afford travel by plane. Just swap home-away ea year.

I always hated divisions having top 4 seeds automatically. You get rewarded twice for playing in a bad division, first you get to play six easier games, then your already inflated record gets a guaranteed top 4 spot because you play in a terrible division

Owners will never allow this. That division win is a home game which is money for the team. Not a chance owners will give up that opportunity. It sucks when a .500 team makes it in but it’s always been this way

I think its fine for them to play "not meaningful" football bc its the perfect time to start putting the 2nd & 3rd string on the field since a loss wont hurt them.
