Honestly, why not make the kids sleep on the couch? If they’re under 10 the space seems a lot more comfortable for them.

I am so adamant that everyone gets their own room on these types of vacations or else we do a hotel. Not only is it uncomfortable for whoever gets stuck on the couch, but then it’s uncomfortable for the rest of us tiptoeing around in the common area, dealing with extra clutter, it’s annoying.

If I’m paying my part for this house I’d have a bedroom. Sorry kids looks like you’re sleeping in the living room or I’d get my own place and I would not pay for the other house.

I don’t think the aunt miscounted bedrooms. She wants OP and her boyfriend in the main living area so they can become babysitters for the two kids under 10 when they get up at 5am to watch cartoons so everyone else can sleep in. Get the other place.

In the comments, she kept mentioning how the kids are the aunt’s “direct bloodline” and ppl asked why. Apparently she’s adopted…which makes it worse to me. She doesn’t see it that way though

Aunt did not make a mistake, first thing people tell you about a place is these many bedrooms and these many bathrooms. I think it may be one of those “if you are not married you can not sleep in the same room” situations.

The kids should sleep on the parents floor. I wouldn’t want to sleep on the couch. Worst case, I’d want a tent in the living room for at least privacy. Plus pull out couches suck.

If your cousin is taking up TWO bedrooms, they can pay for using up 2 bedrooms. Children sleep on palettes on the floor. They dont take extra beds away from people with backpain. I used to LOVE sleeping on a palette next to my parents bed on trip.
