the album only came because of the movie, not the other way round at all. this was not promotion for the album in any way the structure was meant to feel a bit dreamlike and all over the place, as abel was going through insomnia, and the movie was all about his mental state anima and lee represented his light and dark side, and he was eventually able to move away from his toxicity

If you are review it from a film view it’s actually a mid one. If you are a fan you are gonna love it. No one makes you watch it it’s your own choice also Abel says in the interviews that it is for the fans.
