This Trojan horse argument is disingenuous though. There are lots of types of gender affirming care. It’s very different when it relates to children and permanent changes to that child’s future fertility and mental health.

I think you’re referring to gynaecomastia. This is normal in 60% of men, and happens in older men. It’s just a fact of life. Also while it can be a form of gender-affirming care, particularly for trans men and non-binary individuals who wish to reduce breast tissue and achieve a flatter chest. While technically gynecomastia surgery addresses breast tissue in men, the techniques and goals can be used for top surgery in transgender individuals seeking a masculine chest.

I so appreciate that particular gender affirming care/surgery and you sharing what it is. I had it done years ago and it changed my life! Even though it didn’t give me the perfect chest, it did give me confidence in clothes as well as at the beach/pool.

I'm a pharmacist and i have a lot of cis patients of a certain age group getting prescribed some sort of HRT. Also gender affirming care and yet no one seems to mind
