What’s going on in society? It’s your Grandmother!!! I’m so over all this coddling of these kids. Let them is not for teenagers. When they’re adults if they decide not to participate that’s on them. As a child they do what they have to do. No options for kids. Sorry, not sorry

While I don’t agree completely inflicting guilt, I’m trying to raise my kids under the “if you want to be part of a village, you have to be a villager - which sometimes means doing things you don’t want to do” mentality.

How can you put it on a teenager that question, how is Nana gonna feel? Nana’s gonna feel whatever Nana feels. My daughters and my mom (their Nonnie) have a great relationship. There have been a few times where my daughters have not wanted to participate in a party. They call their Nonnie up and tell her how they feel and why they are not wanting to go. And they plan to do something special, just the two of them. It’s not my daughter’s job to take care of her grandmother’s feelings. It’s not my daughter’s job to take care of anybody else’s feelings. It is hard enough at 16 to navigate your own feelings.
