The original story is found in an ancient Arabic book called "Kalila wa Dimna.containing a collection of animal fables aimed at conveying wisdom and morals through symbolism. It was written by the philosopher and writer *Abdullah Ibn al-Muqaffa* in the 2nd century AH (8th century CE).
