The Buddha primarily taught people the path to the cessation of suffering (Nirvana). He expounded upon the Four Noble Truths: the truth of suffering (Dukkha), the truth of the origin of suffering, the truth of the cessation of suffering, and the truth of the path to the cessation of suffering.
This path is known as the Middle Way (Majhima Patipada), which avoids the extremes of sensual indulgence and severe asceticism. It involves practicing the Eightfold Path: right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.
The Buddha's teachings are rooted in loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity (the Four Brahma Viharas), along with wisdom. They emphasize cultivating good moral conduct, calming the mind, and gaining insight and enlightenment. In essence, the Buddha guided people to eliminate greed, hatred, and delusion to achieve a peaceful existence🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
