WWII was from 1939 to 1945. A lot of atrocities can happen in six years. People who feel the need to minimize the atrocities of slavery really should unpack why that need is there.

the news of the abolishing of slavery didn't reached the deep south till 1868 to 1870. over 3000+ were executed at nottoway plantation. it should have never been used as a venue, its a graveyard.

Dude needs to google. Nottoway was a cotton plantation that Randolph purchased in 1842 and within converted cotton crop to sugar cane and it was so profitable he skyrocketed the original 1600 acres to 7000 acres. Last 400 acres was bought in 1859 and the big house went up that same year. Lots of terrible things happened for a very long time
