@nzherald: A nurse at Middlemore Hospital claims she has been the target of racism from some patients after receiving her moko kauae in January. “One lady just totally refused me helping her. I heard her say ‘I don’t want that black girl with the ugly face to look after me’ Mary Parkinson Peni told the Herald. “My workmates stood up for me. I handed the old lady on to another nurse because I didn’t want her or myself in an unsafe situation. 📹 Michael Craig #nz #nznews #middlemore #nzhospital #racism
people that hold these views against maori should be moved on from Aotearoa. 🖤❤

Tattoos mean different things to different cultures, so you may find mixed reactions away from your country, but you stay strong

OH,Hi! :
Honestly just ignore them. Indigenous people from ALL countries will always be treated less than. There’s definitely been improvement but we are still where we were when I was a kid (I’m 37 now) you literally just have to ignore it and live your life or the hate will consume and harden you!

I’m so glad that Maori people are rediscovering the beauty of Ta Moko. It is beautiful and we are to have the culture alive in Aotearoa! My wife is Taino and it is so sad how much they lost through colonisation.

You're beautiful my maori sister, just leave those ones. That's how they feel, they can ring the buzzer and wait for someone else, no longer your responsibility. Don't let those miserable ones get you down ❤️
