@notthefakeamber: Ah yes, “Paid Time Off.” Also known as: the mythical concept where people use their PTO for vacation instead of doctor appointments, medication side effects, or the sheer chaos that is living with Parkinson’s. While you’re sipping cocktails on a beach, I’m over here racking up miles on the struggle bus—destination: another “sick day.” Rest? Optional. Relaxation? LOL. Refills and rigidity? Always on the itinerary. Chronic illness doesn’t ask if it’s a convenient week. It just shows up, wrecks your schedule, and demands you spend your vacation days doing the cha-cha with your neurologist. So if you need me, I’ll be out of office—again—living my best not-so-relaxing life. Sunscreen optional. Medication? Mandatory. #notthefakeamber #parkinsonsawareness

I'm so sorry you are going through this. 💜 I relate but only because my Mom has dementia, now lives with us and my PTO is spent taking her to doctors appointments etc.

I could not have done it ... my PD hit in my late 60s, after retirement. Now, at 70+ and caring for my mom with Alzheimer's, I can barely breathe.
We all need better care - and more time.
