I used to work part time for Greggs, and all the time we were being stolen from. Yes you might think it’s a £3 sandwich being stolen from an organisation making billions, but it has a long lasting effect and the concept of theft and stealing is wrong and illegal. It’s also unfair on all the other paying customers who are spending quite a lot of money a week on breakfast and lunch in Greggs. And if anything, if a homeless person came in asking for a hot drink and something to eat, I’ll give it to them. We used to have a few homeless people come in and ask, I genuinely feel sad that they are on the streets, I would give them something to eat and drink. The amount of times I’ve given statements to the police or I’ve been asked to provide management details so they can obtain CCTV is ridiculous because thefts are at a record high. It’s a good initiative now that they are redesigning some of their shops so that everything is behind the counter now.

The shop lifting in Greg's is crazy. I've seen many people just walk in grab from the fridges and walk straight out. Not looking back at all

Yeah I saw a person wearing a black hoodie and a black mask taking the six pack of sausage rolls from the place and I was thinking “you must be so sad to rob sausage rolls from Greggs” Greggs is so overrated

I did say previously they should do this. Put it behind the counter. It’s sad to see it happen but people stealing all the time and they’re losing money.

It pains me Greggs is the victim for this as they’re the only fast food place you can get lunch and be satisfied for under a fiver. Understand why they’re the victim as their set up is 1 of the easiest for shoplifters
