when I first got married the kitten distribution system threatened me with a feral kitten.. basically said take it or it dies 💀.. we were broke asf.. and here feral cats are usually straight up put down because of lack of space and people with feral experience. so we kept it 😭. we were struggling to find work since we had moved states (back with his parents) and he was focusing on his career so he could go into work with his dad. 2-3 years.. we damn near survived on about 50$ every week or 2.. we mostly shopped at the dollar store and his parents greatly helped by giving us some food here and there. sometimes we would damn near starve just to make sure she got food and litter 😭. other times we would be scraping cents together just to get her dollar store cans and litter bags which were terrible brands of pure clay xD which would never clump.. just make a big mess.. heck.. we never could afford a litter tray! she was going in a oil drip tray we bought at the dollar store! she probably went in that for 3 years before one day the dollar store actually offered a small litter box 😭😂. overall the struggle was real. that was about 9 years ago. she is now 9 yrs old.. and spoiled asf.. my partner finished his career and got his job.
