You can’t read it like a novel. Yes, the serpent is the devil. I would suggest that you follow someone like Chad Bird here on TikTok. He explains things so well & he has a read the Bible w/me on YT.

Look up “Bible for Normal People” and they will help you A LOT!! They will explain the symbolism, parables, apocalyptic text, etc… the snake could never talk.

I highly highly recommend to EVERYONE to read along with a Chuck Missler video on YouTube, just search whatever book of the Bible you are reading, he did such an amazing job of explaining the history and culture of the time as he reads through the Bible so that certain phrases and sayings of those times make more sense and I've learned so much. I read on my own all the time too and I always pray first and ask the Holy Spirit to give me eyes to see and to reveal what He wants me to get from it. Just keep going.. 😉🔥 also THIS, our current life, is actually not "real" life. I know how weird that sounds but we legit live in a version of the Truman Show and so so so much of what we were all taught about history, science, the supernatural etc is all lies. Just keep reading and ask God to show you. He will! ❤️

that's your problem lol, you started in the old testament. I read the new testament, those are the best stories and are much easier to understand. yes, the serpent is equivalent to Satan.
