I’m the healer so I usually had a plan but then someone incidentally gets petrified or fall sleeps (or both during the same combat) so I have to throw it out 😅

my suggestion for all players is before the session starts, review your character sheet. Double check your feats and spells. that way you aren't having to read up during your turn what something does

(I got a plan, I am at the perfect angle to only hit the enemy with this fireball.) *Boblin the GoblinTM, everyone’s favorite NPC, moves into the AoE* (welp don’t want to waste time and think of a new tactic like Lightning Bolt to not hurt Boblin!) I cast Fireball.

I’ve been doing this for my games for awhile and it’s one of the things my DM has praised me for, I play a sorcerer and by the time it gets to my turn I’ve already picked a spell and have my dice ready to roll and the damage dice ready to roll as well

nothing but facts in this entire video. there is no goddamn reason you can't plan out what you might want to do before your f****** turn. combat takes so long a lot of the times because you're just not thinking during other people's terms. 100%.

I dm a party of 10 I only have 2 that take 10 mins per turn, and they aren't casters. I also have 2 that roll their dice before they even tell me what they're doing so yknow yin and yang right.

I’m doing mechs n stuff and I’m letting my players strategize before and during combat. It makes the start up of combat slower but the table talk makes everything so smooth and fluid when they actually start going through the motions because they all share the same plan

I'm playing as a wizard in a 5 person group. Things usually go by quickly, only issue is that I will often have a plan of attack, then someone does something right before my turn that throws everything off. Now I've learned to make a plan A and plan B and sometimes a plan C of what spells to use.
