Hotel costs were out of control so tourists go to air bnb, that becomes out of control. So instead fixing the problem we just go back to what has proven to already be problematic in the first place.

Just landed after 2 weeks in Spain. Stayed at 4 Airbnbs, LOVE IT! The experience is so much better

Spain has an issue with over tourism but if I have a vacation house that I use for 3-4 weeks out of the year and it sits empty otherwise I think people should be able to rent them out

I’ve nothing against someone renting their vacation home or even home to others but it is a problem with mass home purchases increasing home costs so yeah get rid of it.

NYC cracked down on airbnb and it’s helped a lot. Longer term rentals are still available but weekends and week long visits are gone. Hotel prices are up and people are staying further away and taking trains into the city which helps a lot with traffic.

Big problem here is Spain is the law, cause you can't be sure renting a house. Probably they don't pay and ocupe it and ley protect the ocupation. So people prefer rent in Airbnb... This is not the solution....

I get they're angry but housing isn't a right. I right is something that doesn't require someone else's labor for you to have. you have the right to build you a house thats it.

Go back to hotels and some house rentals that aren’t corporate owned in these sites They are ruining not only the lives of locals but lead to over crowding so tourism isn’t even enjoyable and Spain needs su stable tourism for economic reasons - some cities only let you do STR if you are a resident and must prove it

They try in France and landlords prefer keeping apartments empty or sales it for a higher price...and it still housing problems...Hotels are too expensive so tourists are not coming

Es un problema complejo. Y echarle la culpa a Airbnb es muy simplista. Los hoteles son caros y limitados. Muchos airbnbs son ilegales y no cumplen normativas. Aunque hay leyes no las ponen en vigor. El gobierno no promueve inversiones privadas y los autónomos que pueden construir y vender, no son bien vistos por el gobierno. Les imponen muchos impuestos y mucha burocracia que limita la inversión. Y el gobierno tampoco construye viviendas a precios más accesibles. Muchos pisos sin restaurar y abandonados. El gobierno ha dejando a solas al pueblo en contra de los okupas (lo cual hace más caro y más difícil conseguir alquiler, lo cual hace que los alquileres suban de precio). El gobierno de España tiene a los españoles con un salario mínimo súper bajo, con unos tributos súper altos…no les sobra dinero ni para comprar ni para alquilar. ¿Sigo????????????? ¿Que sería España sin el turismo?
