Just started reading through a bunch of his books and watching the movies immediately after… The Shining, as great of a movie it is… as an adaptation it may be one of the worst. Kubrick even changing the room # was petty as fuuuck

i would have done the same thing. we automatically think of horror when long had so much more. ironic that the best adaptations have come from drama work and not pure horror
