I don’t want to lose my FERS annuity for social security. I understand it’s 5% less for each year before 62. But having none of the annuity delays my retirement goal by 5 years… 5 crucial years of my goal and life I was promised when serving as a VA nurse.

Supplement…I was/am eligible for DRP (VERA)…had I known the supplement would be on the chopping block, I might have considered this differently. I’ll have well over 30 years of service once I hit my MRA (57) that’s 5 years before I’m eligible to collect SS 😔

As a current CSRS retiree, the FEHB “audit” worries me the most. The rest of the FED attacks concern me for all of those FERS employees who can’t retire in time to escape the 2028 date.

So if we lose the supplement that means I will have to put 10 in extra years before I can retire. This puts me working a total of 43 years. That's crazy.

Any cuts are awful. Federal employees do not make a lot of money, any such cuts are painful.

we get promotion as if new job when say I get the supervisor position it's listed as a new job you apply if I get the job would I be the new employee who needs to decide to serve at will even though 10 years federal employee?

DO NOT serve at will. I did it for 8 years. Next thing you know they cut your hours or have periods of lay offs.
