He apologizes because of his niece's actions in the last few chapters. He mentioned the fact that shuyi's ex was a jerk, and only dated with his niece because apparently, he thought her uncle is Shiyan. As the chapter goes beyond, shiyan felt something suspiciously devastating about the situation. While taking a walk, Shiyan's niece (Shiyue) called. Along with the conversation, shiyan brought up shuyi and asked if she likes someone else. SHIYUE answered, "That was back then, she chased some guy before to get back at her ex. But that wasn't for love, she never loved that guy!" That's when Shiyan realized the guy she was talking about was him, him who thought that he's being used. That's when the misunderstandings starts. Shiyan's thoughts: "She only chose and chased me to get revenge on her ex." "It never occurred to me that I'd be used to show another man how much she loved him." "Every sweet line she told me was just to bait him." "But they sound real, they have to be real. Her expressions, should be real." "You did everything for him, but what about me?" Akira: Oh this man loves shuyi so damn much. He fell at first sight, and fell harder? I feel so sad about this chapter, I can't stand a good man like shiyan broken hearted. Okay let me express my thoughts, Shuyi started her revenge plan recklessly just after her breakup. I mean, she got cheated on, who wouldn't be angry? Her co-worker then told her to go date a man with high qualities, since shuyi is also a high quality woman. This is when her revenge plan starts. When she first started flirting with Shiyan, it was all chill and not serious. And It's safe to assume that she expects Shiyan to be cold and to always reject her, not to mention, she didn't know Shiyan already had a slight crush on her before even their actual meetup. But after the dates and conversations they've experience she gradually fell in love. There's even a chapter where Shuyi thought "I'm far away from my original plan, and I can never go back" which clearly means she have fallen in love. If I put myself in Shuyi's place, it'll be hard for me to adjust in a new relationship too especially if she got cheated on. Also, as someone who likes to put myself in their position also, I think shuyi didn't tell her original plan just because she already fell in love. And didn't have the courage to say it, because she thinks Shiyan would leave her, and be away from her. My thoughts on shiyan on the other hand, PLEASE MY LOVE...
