FAA is missing the mark right in the aviation industry. One of the industrys where it’s 100 out of touch old men making decisions for an industry that has long passed them up with technology and innovative operational procedures. You have a generation of avaiation enthusiasts who work on the ground with A/C every day but because we aren’t pilots, or ex military, or went to the few AT-CT juco colleges that feeds into AT-CT curriculum. I don’t feel bad about the shortage of staff honestly they make the hiring process so strenuous no wonder they struggle. Also they have like 60 open supervisor Controller positions open but take almost no one off the street entry level without those three requirements earlier mentioned. I’ve worked in aviation my whole life. It’s plagued with outdated systems and gate keeping old men who refuse to change from the younger generation pushing them. We warned them. Now they seeing the fruits of their labor. DOT is just at fault as well as secretary of transportation

They love the job. The problem is the FAA forced them to move a hundred miles to Philly where the facility is clearly not up to the task. So they had to up and move away from Newark to work Newark traffic, a hundred miles away from family, friends, only for the screens to not work. I'd be frustrated too.
