I went in to the Kia dealership and they acted like the $2,500 add on for scotchguard and washing the car wasn’t negotiable until I said ok and got up to leave.

I went to a dealership yesterday and asked for the out the door they never gave it to me and immediately went to monthly payment nonsense. Also the price was marked up for $6000 from the online price. $37,000 for a Hyundai Tucson? No sir for that price I’ll go to Toyota

I’ve been selling new for a while and some used. Used has like no wiggle room at all. Best you’re gonna get is 1-2k off. New we have SO MUCH wiggle room. Customers payments can go from 900/m to 500/m through negotiations. I get paid less but I get a deal regardless. Which gets me closer to my bonus for the month. Always buy new for the best deal possible

My most recent purchase was at a Lexus dealer and the first words out of there mouths was the price is the price. Bottom line is if they want to sell a car they will figure it out. I told them my down payment and what I wanted my monthly payment and they made it happen and yeah I got the car cheaper than advertised

A dealer asked me how did you get to this discount you’re asking for? Told him it’ll make me sleep at night. He actually gave me the deal I wanted lol

I sold cars 25 years ago. When I did, we weren’t allowed to negotiate prices. Only sales managers were. My job was to help the person find a car they liked which was within their budget. Worse job I ever had.

Seems like the sales people can’t haggle. They have to get their manager to do it

I didn't haggle on my last car but I bought it during the chip shortage. the sticker was on the up and up nostupid fees it was used and basically they said and I totally believed they could find another buyer in a day or 2. I did get $500 off because of a suspension issue that turned out to be loose plastic and they gave me a great deal on my trade in. no they actually did I couldn't hand them the title over fast enough.

I bought a CPO from a franchise dealer that was well priced and said they were “haggle free, priced to sell, we list our best price online.” I offered them $3k below their stated price, justified it with a listing ~60 miles away and they came down $2.5k

I literally just turned down a 70k Tundra deal because the dealer wouldn't match the $500 I got from another dealer lol.. yes I wanted to go with the Toyota dealer for trade in taxes and fees.. but $500? Yes it's not much but I stood on principle not to pay a certain amount.. Their lose I guess

Went to a Honda dealer for a new black HRV sport and they said they can’t budge at ALL. Called another and they said they can do 1500 under MSRP but only for the red one. Called the other Honda back to leverage on the black HRV and they said they only sell at MSRP there and that we can buy from the other place if we wanted. Absolutely wild how they literally told us to buy somwhere else 🤦🏼♀️

my line was "I'm going to buy this car, now it's just down to whether I buy it from you or the other dealership", they negotiated pretty quickly after that

I just traded in my 2019 se sienna with 39k miles for a 2021 platinum hybrid Highlander. They matched caravana and gave me $31058 for my van and I got the Highlander for the online price but they didn’t go lower. So 38,998. I think I did ok. I think🤣
