Unhealthy friendship. . (This is not a ship post) . Yapping alert (I'm sorry if i'm wrong about these opinions): First of all it's not really about "Kaiser evil, Ness good". It's a bit more personal (in Kaiser's side) than that. We all know that Kaiser is an insecure character to the core. ■ "I've made my peace with what that says about me" It represents about at one of the chapters mentioned that Kaiser will prove his existence with malice. He doesn't care if he's seen as the bad guy or a villain because crushing other's dreams aligns with his desire that he wants his worth to be recognized in any kind of way, as his way to have his own identity because that's also the only thing he knew if we see from his childhood. There's only 4b*se, v*ol*nce, and pain in his everyday life. The constant 4b*se from his father, being called not by his name but by 4b*s*ve terms "piece of shit, worthless trash" making him have such a weak sense of identity. Once he internalized that mindset, if something doesn't go well, he will fell apart. That's just how weak Kaiser truly is. He wants to have that glory, success, and victories to make him feel good about himself. All of those external needs for him to finally think he have some self worth is because he have none to be proud of internally. ■ I included the scene where young Kaiser threw the ball towards the wall, then it changed to the scene where Ness and Kaiser first met, it's to symbolize of how Kaiser probably letting a bit of his guard down towards Ness because Ness reminded Kaiser of his old soccer ball. Throughout his childhood the only thing Kaiser held close to his heart personally was the ball. At one of the chapters, Kaiser said the reason why he likes his soccer ball is because no matter how many times Kaiser throws it away, being the object for him to express his emotions (like anger), the ball always goes back to him and always stays beside him. It goes the same with Ness. Ness always follows Kaiser around even when Kaiser shows his bad sides. All of these times Kaiser thought that Ness is only a tool for him to use, but actually without realizing it, for the first time, Kaiser feels comfortable or safe with someone because Ness is always there for him. Kaiser even trusts Ness to cut his hair and opens up a bit of his past to Ness. Kaiser doesn't recognize/realize this feeling because once again, those kinds of positive emotions are foreign to him because of his childhood. Kaiser does care about Ness even if it's just a little. But Kaiser's sense of identity of thinking that he's a villain is an obstacle for him to realize that. ■ "I think you're so good, and i'm nothing like you" I took it from the scene where Ness said that Kaiser is not a piece of shit, but a human, flesh and blood. You can interpret it as Kaiser thinking that he's the bad guy compared to Ness. But for me it's because Kaiser is questioning Ness' loyalty. After the PXG match where Kaiser lost to Isagi, he has lost his sense of worth to himself, because he has failed. But even so, Ness is still sticking to him which is something that Kaiser doesn't understand. Kaiser said "The me you believed in is an illusion. I'm shit." So he thinks that there will be no reason for Ness to keep following him around. Kaiser is questioning why would Ness still sticking to some failure, worthless subhuman like him. But once Ness doesn't listen to Kaiser's crashout and instead acknowledging him as 'human' even after his humiliating failure, Kaiser got stunned and made that expression at the end of the video (referenced from the manga). Applause for you if you read this until the end. #bluelock #michaelkaiser #alexisness #fanart
