I’ve actually said point blank “Unfortunately I haven’t achieved a state of Hive Mind with my coworkers, so I’ll need a few details to get brought up to speed”. If they’re not already screaming they’re usually caught so off-guard that they laugh and the tension is broken enough to start fresh.
