Saw a guy in Co-op running out with a whole basket of goods and chased by shop assistant. He wasn't caught, so I followed him and took his photo. No-one was interested in having the evidence. Someone told me afterwards that they add a % on the prices to account for shoplifting which much more than covers the loss.

the government needs to toughen the law on shoplifting can you imagine you get caught its 30 days in prison benefits stopped as well and on release you have to reapply for benefits brutal but intimidating

Been a Section Leader at Asda and Team Leader at Co-op. We get told to report it, we do, police come for evidence and nothing happens. A lad got caught stealing hundreds of £ of meat and got 3 months. So, it’s not worth it anymore.
