Wisconsin doesn't actually HAVE a minimum standard size for lakes. They just.. arbitrarily call things lakes. I think there are several half-acre farm ponds in their 15k number. And 60% don't gave a name.

Just adding another lake fact to add to why we’re prideful about our lakes: Minnesota has the cleanest lakes out of the 48 continuous. So not only do we have a ton, we manage most of them incredibly well!
