As someone who used pods for years and couldn’t figure out why the filter would get so dirty so fast - yes they do. That plastic layer coats the filter and if it coats the filter it coats everything. Once I went back to powder the filter was way cleaner for way longer.

As a plumber who deals with dishwashers, none of us knows or cares how the dishwasher is going to handle cascade pods. We hook them up, check for leaks, and move on. He’s full of it.

if you leave the water in the beaker for a while and let it dry up, you will find gummy yuck at the bottom. if you do that once a week for a year, you will have a beaker full of the gummy goop that clogs pipes.

From an appliance tech I can say cascade with dawn causes a lot of suds and keeps the water from reaching the correct level which causes wash motor to overheat and propeller housing to come apart or magnet on end of shaft to crack. Dawn is the worst thing you could ever put in your dishwasher

so hear me out okay Open the pod put it in there Don't touch it Don't spin it around you agitating the water is going to obviously break down the pod but you don't have that much agitation inside your dishwasher so why don't you do it the right way

So what people aren’t understanding is the problem isn’t the pod, it’s your dishwasher, I have lived in many different houses with many different dishwashers, and only in one of them have I had any issues with the pods not dissolving. It was the dishwasher. Also, if the pod is sticking to your plates, you’re doing something wrong. It should never be touching your plates.
