@goodlawproject: Kids Company has won its judicial review against the Charity Commission. This is long-overdue justice for the charity and its founder, Camila Batmanghelidjh. The question is: why did the Charity Commission choose to waste huge sums of public money producing and defending a flawed report?
The unfortunate thing to remember is that whatever the reason for the ‘vendetta’ it worked. This was huge news, when it was nagative. I followed the details (to a point, as I now understand). I’m just finding out now it was flawed and she was proven innocent. A reminder to me to question what I see.

It was the establishment didn’t want money spent on those kids cos they saw it as tax payers money they could siphon. That generation are now the ‘knife’ generation

I’m so glad you’re shining a light on this injustice. I was a CEO of youth work organisations during both the rise and fall of KIDS. I always rated what they did and the courage of the board to allow the organisation and its founder to do their amazing work. RIEP Ms B. We know what you did and see the injustice done against you and your team ❤️

The BBC is 100% establishment. All editorial staff are required to sign a D Notice (Defense Notice) promising not publish anything that could compromise national security. Paradoxically Jimmy and Andrew were not protected in the end.

I’d Ioved to know the answer. We were led to believe that her bookkeeping was lacking, but is that even true?

maybe she had some info about high profile abuse cases given to her by some of the kids.. the propaganda against her was very fishy

I think they had to break it because the model/approach was mold bteaking and they did things like give cash etc which is ‘risky’ and public services do not DIRECTLY support people, they have to make u jump thru hoops and sufffer to receive help.

Erm - if you look at the charity comission report it’s pretty damaging. The court only rejected some of the findings but upheld most of them.

My understanding was kids company were working with neurologists and had enough evidence to prove abuse and neglect caused brain damage that could then be healed and this would have triggered a legal case for public funding

I honestly believe the charity commision needs to be thoroughly investigated, my experience is they are very selective about who they investigate, how can we get this rolling

It's such a desperate shame that she died so young, and long before Kids Company was finally vindicated.
