So this New York pilot that was steering the boat did not know what he was doing. Had a malfunction and didn’t have time to call for someone to get a tug put on them real fast. What kind of pilot is that?

Doesn't matter that the Pilot was giving orders to maneuver, the CO is still in charge and if he sees there is an unsafe issue with his vessel it's his responsibility to keep the ship safe..someone sounds like they are covering up negligence on the COs side..

Sounds like you got stuck in reverse-and could not take it out of gear doesn't matter if it's not the engine it's a mechanical failure. It's a boat that happens all the time.

It would take longer than 4 minutes for a huge boat like that to start to change direction when there was a strong current pushes them toward the bridge.

The pilot has ZERO control over what the CREW does. Oh and the captain of any ship can override what a pilot orders if he observes unsafe seamenship

I SAID IMMEDIATELY THAT YOU COULD SEE IT WAS PILOT ERROR! I SAID IT DID NOT LOSE POWER! And I still say he thought it would fit under that bridge. I took so much grief for that from TikTokers who can’t see the obvious! I REST MY CASE!

1st Pilots never are in charge, they only guide the ship’s master. 2nd The ship was accelerating in reverse when it struck the bridge. Could be mechanical or could be operator error.
