@accuweather: More than 160 tornadoes have been reported since last Wednesday, killing at least 28 people across the central US. #tornadoes #tornado #weather #severeweather #storms #stlouis #londonky #weathertok #accuweather
Reminder that AccuWeather actively lobbies for the privatization of the National Weather Service and to put critical forecasts behind pay walls

You know, I was thinking.if these storms are beginning to be the new normal and more severe as climate change continues, how does an economy keep up with rebuilding over and over and over this catastrophic damage? And these disasters are happening everywhere, in the same seasons.

Friendly reminder that AccuWeather publicly and explicitly wants to privatize the NWS for their own profit.

UK citizen here, we get 30-40 tornadoes a year here now compared to yours absolutely nothing, our last bad one was 2005. We don’t scale ours with EF we scale ours T scale. But 2005 was equivalent EF 3 your scale, but knowing you guys have horrible, majorly damaging tornadoes why don’t America have better protection against storm like these? Better built homes and not wooden? Why not have better infrastructure and stronger storm shelters that can fit more people in to save more lives? How come it never happens? All these homes don’t look strong enough to survive Ef 1 tornados? No hate, just curious? We don’t build our homes with wood here we use concrete and bricks.

It’s almost like May is the most prolific month for tornadoes in the US.

Its gonna get worse. But no matter how fast you can react, they still build paper houses at the same exact spot and its not the citizen fault. Its the government and state that refuse to support their community to be safer.
