@nbcnews: In a surprise move, the Republican-led Senate quickly passed the No Tax on Tips Act after Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen called up the bipartisan bill for immediate passage, and no senator objected. The measure now goes to the House.
We never claimed our cash tips anyway how about no tax on CC tips

Yeah, exactly something that doesn’t matter. Couldn’t do what you ran your president campaign on because we only voted cause we didn’t want tax on overtime?

Some places have a system set up that takes a guess on how much cash you made (based on how much you made on card tips) for the night and taxes u based on that guess! So many servers have been taxed on cash tips sadly :/ (I work at a restaurant that does this)

the bill introduced by a DEMOCRAT btw. This is not Trump's doing and he didn't have any part in it. Literally an idea brought forward by a dem and the Republican majority decided they liked it

The majority of tips today are digital, so this does nothing to help servers and waiters

My company only allows us to take tips on the card reader so that we are forced to be taxed on tips. We arent “allowed” to take cash tips

Only up to $25000! That’s crazy. Only on cash tips. Career servers make more than that.

A majority of the people who make tips work in restaurants and most of those people are part time and don’t even make enough to owe the government anything so why would they need a $25k tax deduction for tips…
