I moved my family to Costa rica and threw everything i had at buying 2 acres of an old farm and raising my son there. built my house with cash so he never has to worry about a mortgage and has a food source from the land. I think this is the way we have to adapt so our kids have some kind of security in the future

My parents friends did this on an island in Nova Scotia! We have a house there and the community just celebrated 50 years since they had a crazy dream!

wait i had this song in my head all day yesterday and now I know why. this is NOT the way we're supposed to live y'all: humans are not meant to work 8-10 hrs plus commutes in order to have only 6-8 hrs of "leisure" (don't forget feeding and bathing yourself) while aiming to get 8 hrs of sleep. this capitalistic way of living is killing us physically, psychologically and spiritually. this group had it figured out tbh

Can you share some of the experience of how they did this? I know a lot of us have this dream and I have a lot of questions about how to get this right (probably many ways but it would be good to learn from their mistakes hahah) I’m specially curious about the raising children aspect too! Because I’ve been thinking it must be really hard to balance the kids life between inside and outside world, social skills, having friends, school, and most of all how that impacts you/these kids when they grow up? Would love to learn more about it 💕
