@rashaanroriallwood: Boulez’s Notation 7 is stark, ritualistic, and full of brutal contrasts—originally for piano in 1945, later orchestrated in the ’70s with explosive intensity. On Moog, it becomes something between machine and mantra. #boulez #pierreboulez #douzenotations #notation7 #hieratique #1945music #20thcenturymusic #modernism #serialism #frenchcomposer #atonal #moogsynth #synthperformance #modularsynth #moogmatriarch #moogmother32 #analoguesynth #synthcover #contemporarymusic #pianotranscription #avantgarde #ritualmusic #musicformachines #electronicclassical #orchestration #electronicinterpretation
I always think Boulez is impenetrable - until you listen to it. I once did an experiment played Berio symphonia (the Mahler bit) followed by pli selon pli to a friend - just assuming they’d be draw

really interesting interpretation of Boulez. I gotta show this to my theory IV students. they may start to appreciate the beauty of this style of music

Interesting how it pans between left and right.. I wonder if the panning is from the Moog, or if it was added after 🤔
