There are some cases where people prefer the artist’s old art style because the current art style in question looks questionable in a bad way. Take Cherry’s art for example, one of her OC’s (the female mutation) is an adult and her old art style made it look like an actual adult; when she changed her art style, her adult female mutation OC looks like a child and is small to the point where it could fit in the arms of her other OC who is an army guy who looks more like an adult in her current art style than her female mutated OC. Nowadays, Cherry changed her art style again to avoid getting in trouble with the internet but she has videos made about her already; it ranges from her drawings to her being a racist. Sorry that I kept saying “female mutation OC”, I forgot Cherry’s OC name.
