While this sounds like an amazing experience for you, of which I am happy for; I wonder how your visit or other modern tourists would negatively impact their culture? What about the transmission of colds or illnesses that they are not immune against. I’m not saying anything negative to you. Just curious.

That sounds like such a cool experience! Did you learn anything about how they date/marry/have kids? Like do they meet other people from town? Or marry within the family? Are the different families related?

‘They are so rich on life and so incredibly happy’ The sense of community is what’s missing in modern life

For everyone wanting to do this, this is what I study, social anthropology. Doing this for a living and doing research like this. This is what we would call ethnographic fieldwork, but if it’s for academic work you are suggested to stay for longer than 6 months. When you’ve got the degree you can do fieldworks on ecenomics, religion, politics, or social structures, kinship, rituals, spirituality, literally whatever you want to learn about another community all over the world. Social anthropology is a really giving field, and you learn so much about life and other ways of living.

So cool, I’ve spent a lot of time in the Amazon and it took me right back there. Such an invaluable experience to step outside of western culture

So, so good to hear your feedback. Especially how mental illness seems to be non-existent. Living in the here & now, being satisfied with what they have at present & not hunting for more & more & more!!💝💝💝👍
