@.oursimplesum: 🎯 How we’re planning to level up our financial independence before 30 (as a team): Over the past few years, life has shifted in big ways—from our first studio apartment to a rental home in the foothills, promotions, raises, and yes… a little lifestyle creep. 😅 As we get closer to our elopement and and to 30, we’re getting more intentional about money—laying the groundwork now so we have options later. Our goal? Hit financial independence and retire by 40. Here’s what we’re doing: 📈 Investing more every year – Right now, we’re investing $8k/month, and our goal is to grow that number steadily over time. It’s a steep goal, but staying consistent is the plan now that we have our emergency funds and savings built up to where we'd like. Time to focus any additional income beyond expenses towards early retirement! 📉 Reining in lifestyle creep – From post-grad to now, our lifestyle grew as our income did. But this year, we’re tightening the budget and keeping upgrades modest—aligned with inflation and nothing more. Financial discipline is our new love language. 💸 🏁 Setting net worth milestones – We’re mapping out financial checkpoints as a couple, and each one comes with a small, meaningful reward we’ve intentionally delayed (thank you @lucrativelifelucy for the inspo — she's our go-to money mindset gal!) We’re building something sustainable, together—and honestly, that’s the most exciting part. If you’re working toward financial freedom too (solo or with a partner), we’d love to hear what’s working for you! 👇 #FIREmovement #CouplesFinance #FinancialIndependence #RetireEarly #MoneyGoals #BudgetingTogether #InvestingAsACouple #RootedAndReal #AppalachiaOnABudget
