I will say that sometimes kids just start saying things they decided are true, mine who has never been taught a hard gender binary decided when she was around 3 that "she's a girl so she wants the girl stuff and pink is for girls because she is a girl who likes it". I had to dismantle that but she came up with that herself as she started the identity-concept-forming developmental stage and I have to actively continue doing so or she makes bad assumptions

When I paint my nails my son always said "me too" and we never once had an issue until he started school. On the walk home he said "it's just colors, why were they so mean?" It took months for him to ask again.

I work as an after school coach for kinder, yesterday the boys (all of them) refused to dance to a song because the loudest one said it was for girls. Earlier in the week one of the boys said if a boy wears nail polish he’s a girl. It’s a hard fight.

my daughter said this 😭 she was sad cause for a bit she thought she wasn't allowed to like minecraft anymore cause a boy told her it was for boys 😕 told her she can like whatever she wants and her likes and dislikes aren't gender specific , she can like 'boy stuff' and boys can like 'girl stuff' , it doesn't matter as long as you're happy and enjoying yourself

My son wanted pink gloves. I went to pay for them. Cashier said "we have boy gloves on same row". I looked confused, examined the gloves. & asked "why are these not boy gloves?. I can't see anywhere he should stick his genitals into. "
