I’ve seen them push what is basically “black American” supremacy lmao. That the poverty (caused by US/western imperialism and slavery) in the Caribbean or Africa is proof that black Americans are smarter/more cultured than “foreign” blacks. Totally indistinguishable from white supremacists

There is no doubt that there is considerable amount anti-African-American sentiment among a lot of the African diaspora that reside within the United States. They do enjoy the spoils of our ancestral labor while turning their noses up at us, name-calling, and feeling superior whilst marrying White. Soulaani people are just realizing, after seeing the exit poles for the 2025 election, that we are on our own. And that’s OK. We are all we’ve got, but more importantly we now understand we are all we need. That’s not conservatism. That survival!

My family are Vietnamese refugees and I see a lot of this idea too - that we struggled and worked hard to achieve a good life, and now there’s resentment toward other immigrant groups who aren’t being immigrants in “the right way”

SA is facing Xenophobic views purely because of this logic. SA is in Africa but SAns don't find resonance with Africa, infact there is a difference between SA and Africa even though SA is in Africa. The North Muslim dominated countries think like this too.

I will argue that this isn’t a rise of black conservatism, it’s always been there. I believe what we’re seeing is a reaction to the rise of black leftist movements and socialism. It seems now is time to have a conversation on how to specifically address it though

Black conservatism is as old as Jim Crow, tbh. After listening to a lot of older Black people, a lot of them don't differ much from White folk other than skin tone. Also, we really need to talk about Black conservatives running wild in the hood. That fascinates me!

Was with you until you brought beyonce back up. I don’t think celebrating back southern culture=execptionalism. She collabed with a Nigerian American on the album and released a whole afrobeats album in the past. You didn’t need to do all that just bc your friend was wrong.

The reason they are right leaning is because they don't believe in the ability to restructure, rebuild, ect they are affair of the major shift so they can be swayed to fear any change. Keeping them and us stuck here
